A name that appear to let people see doesn't mean a lot. The most important are how your friends feel to your in their heart.
Friendship is a relation that build up among people in this world. For sure there is a gauge for this relation. That's why we have best friends, good friends and normal friends. And it would be affected by the time being as well! I don't think at two separated places can affected a relation lo... If you got keep in touch with your friends frequently, I pretty sure the relation sure can maintain!
For me, my best friends are not just even in Malacca, they are in Cyberjaya and some other places too. I treat them as my best friends but duno what about them la..
